Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday that focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died.
One of the traditions connected with the holiday is honoring the deceased using sugar skulls. Sugar skulls are candies made from sugar cane and adornedwith lines of vegetable dye, usually in green, blue, yellow or red color.
This custom miniature was carved out of polymer clay, detailed with pigments and painted after the clay was cured with gold, red and black acrylics. The roses were crafted/baked separately and later attached.
